abstract postcolonialism，feminism and the study of chinese history of science: some theoretical possibilities in historiographyduring its different periods, the study of history of science has different topics, and made the same topics had different interpretation and meaning. new theories and perspective bring the study of history of science with new form and new interpretation constantly. very often, some ideas, theories and methodologies that came from other fields, have influenced history of science. for example, in recent years, postcolonialism and feminism have become more and more popular in the international academic context, and they have shown their vitality in many fields，including history of science. some scholars have noticed already these new theories’ value for the study of chinese history of science, however, related studies have not become mainstream in this field. based on the standpoint of historiographical perspective and methodology, this paper will analyze the possible influence and value of postcolonialism and feminism in the study of chinese history of science.
